[London, UK] With nearly eight billion engagements and more than 400 million people from 170 countries interacting with the brand every day, National Geographic has built a digital presence that is hard to beat.

“National Geographic is 130 years old, so, you know, for some people the idea that an organisation of that age has been able to embrace digital would actually be quite hard to comprehend,” Marcus East, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Executive Vice President for National Geographic, told HIMSS TV at UK e-Health Week.

Speaking to Dr Charles Alessi, HIMSS International Chief Clinical Officer, the CTO offered lessons that healthcare organisations could embrace to advance on the path towards becoming paperless.
